Multi-agent Agri-food living labs for new supply chain Mediterranean systems. Towards more sustainable and competitive farming addressing consumers’ preferences and market changes
WHAT IS LAB4SUPPLY?
LAB4SUPPLY is a Research and Development project that aims to provide a practical solution to address the current difficulties of Mediterranean smallholders and traditional farmers.
OBJECTIVES
The project main objectives are:
WHY?
The project will offer an innovative and viable alternative solutions and opportunities to allow the smallholders to increase their competitiveness and profitability, using optimized agri-food supply chains and improving adaptation capacity to unexpected market changes, which at the same time will be better perceived by the consumers.
TEAM
LAB4SUPPLY is formed by 9 partners from 7 different countries in the Mediterranean area (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Algeria and Morocco). The Consortium is made up of the following profiles: SMEs with advanced technological experience in ICT solutions; specialists in agrifood value chains and agroeconomics,;specialists in consumer acceptance activities; and agri-food product technologists.
Finally, the exploitation plan together with the communication and dissemination plan will ensure the outreach of results among the stakeholders in the European farming sector.

THE ROLE OF CREDA
TASK
CREDA coordinates the project management of LAB4SUPPLY. Regarding the scientific work packages, CREDA leads the creation of the Agri-food Stakeholders Platform (APS) at territorial and Mediterranean level within the Agri-food Innovation Ecosystem (AIE) living lab (LL).
CREDA also participates in the tasks of
- Reviewing, mapping and analysing the existing smallholder platforms in the Agri-food value chain, as well as the value chain price strategy and price transmission along the food chain.
- Selecting and evaluating the sustainability indicators for the evaluation of the Agri-food supply chain.
- Analysing consumers’ preferences and willingness to pay.
- Collaborating in the design and of the ICT tool and testing it.
- Communicating and disseminating the project results and impact.
