Selene Ivette Ornelas Herrera

Research support technician

I have a degree in Systems Engineering and did master’s studies in management in my home country (Mexico). Later I studied a Master’s degree in Statistics and Operational Research at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, where I focused on data analysis on agricultural activities and climate change, this prompted me to participate in projects related to rural development and in the analysis of the agri-food value chain, allowing me to gain experience in field work, sample collection and analysis and data management. Furthermore, I have a PhD in Sustainability and I work as a Research Project Technician, collaborating in European projects focused on the field of rural development, where innovation and technology transfer for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient recovery in the agri-food sector is analyzed from the perspective of the human factor. My main motivation is focused on the promotion of sustainable agriculture and the improvement of the agri-food system.
