Visiting PhD Candidate
María Teresa is an Agricultural Engineer from the National Agrarian University La Molina in Lima – Peru and has a Master’s degree in Tropical Agriculture from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She has carried out specialized studies in Project Formulation and Evaluation, Foreign Trade and International Business. Her areas of interest are oriented to project evaluation, food product quality and Food Safety. Her professional experience has been mainly in the evaluation of Development Projects, Sustainable Agricultural Production, Agrarian Innovation and Supervisor of projects financed by the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and other international organizations.
She has been a professor at universities in Peru, in courses on natural resource economics, agro-exportation, plant physiology, post-harvest and food safety. Her research has evaluated export crops, fertilization, irrigation and quality losses during the handling of fresh products. She is currently a PhD candidate in Food Loss, Waste and Safety at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
