Manel is a CREDA PhD student since January 2024. He graduated in Environmental Sciences at the University of Barcelona, doing a short exchange stay at the University of Gothenburg. To further his academic career, he studied the International Master of Rural Development (IMRD) at the University of Ghent, doing his second year and final work at the Institute-Agro Rennes-Angers, on river management and public participation. He also participated in a case study at the University of Can Tho.

His experiences in the world of research focus on the governance of natural resources, food security, the agricultural economy and rural development, with a special interest in the most sociological and environmental aspects of these areas. He is also attracted to participatory research methods that are close to local communities and include diverse actors.
