José M. Gil is director of the CREDA and professor of Agricultural Economics at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He is also responsible for the food chain analysis and consumer behavior team. His research focuses on economic aspects related to food security and policies related to the consumer, the agri-food industry and international trade. The analysis of the competitiveness of the food value chain is the second most relevant research topic. He also has extensive experience in econometrics and statistical methods for analyzing value chains and household purchasing behavior.
