February 13, 2025
The Centre de Recerca en Economia i Desenvolupament Agroalimentari (CREDA) carried out a training and participatory workshop within the framework of the European project SWITCHtoHEALTHY (Switching Mediterranean consumers to Mediterranean sustainable healthy dietary patterns). The session, which was organized during the international week of Women and Girls in Science, collected a series of possible improvements to be carried out with the material generated over the last 33 months in which the project has been developed.
The workshop was held at the Institut Menéndez i Pelayo in Barcelona and was led by Amèlia Sarroca and Cristina Roca, technicians at CREDA. Both accompanied parents and adolescents on a day aimed at promoting adherence to a healthier and more sustainable diet. Thus, while adults and adults shared opinions on what content a food APP could collect in order to have a positive impact, the students evaluated and chose different snacks in relation to various parameters.
Once the participatory part was over, Amèlia gave a short presentation on the impact of food on the environment and health, taking into account its supply chain and temporality.
It was a very enriching day of exchanging opinions and knowledge, where all participants were also able to prepare a healthy dinner to take home, with various products of plant origin.
