The Centre de Recerca en Economia i Desenvolupament Agroalimentari (CREDA) and Eurecat organized a workshop in the framework of the European project SWITCHtoHEALTHY (Switching Mediterranean consumers to Mediterranean sustainable healthy dietary parents) at the fourth edition of ‘Terra i Gust’, the Sustainable Food Festival of Barcelona City Council.

During the morning of Saturday 21st, children and adults participated in an activity to make original and colourful hummus to promote the consumption of legumes in homes, with the aim of reaching the recommendations from 4 to 7 weekly portions.

The workshop, led by Amèlia Sarroca, research technician at CREDA, and Lorena Calderón and Alícia Domingo, nutritionists at the Eurecat technology centre, had a total of 100 participants who tasted and designed dishes with hummus made from chickpeas, beans, peas, and lentils.

This initiative was part of the ‘Terra i Gust’ program, a space dedicated to tastings, show cooking and workshops to promote the key aspects to build a more sustainable future, with fairer conditions for farming and the promotion of local products.
