In order to carry out their purposes, some of SWITCHtoHEALTHY’s participating partners, such as research centers and universities, are developing educational tools and materials that “help all family members become aware of the benefits of healthy eating”.

Besides Sarroca, three other speakers will participate in this first session: the Senior Consultant of the Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Ramón Estruch, the President of the Chartier World Lab, François Chartier, and the Director of the Culinary Arts and Gastronomy Research Group of CETT-UB Tourism and Hospitality, Helena Martín.

HOW THE EVENT WORKS

On the one hand, a total of 9 sessions will be held on Monday with topics such as: consumption of vegetables and vegetables, the creation of restaurants with plant-based menus or learning techniques of using olive oil.

WHY THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET AND NO OTHER?
According to experts, the Mediterranean diet “is one of the healthiest ways to eat in the world, as it provides benefits for people’s physical and mental health”. In turn, this regime is easy to follow and sustainable in the long term, and the variety of foods that compose it allows people who do not live in a Mediterranean country to access it.

This year 2023, the American magazine US. News and World Report ranked the Mediterranean diet as number 1, in addition to highlighting it as the best plant-based diet, since among the main products that compose it we find fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals and legumes.
