The Government of Catalonia has approved the increase in the budget allocated to aid that seeks to achieve climate objectives, environmental conservation and the decarbonization of the agricultural and livestock sector, given the number of applications received during the year 2023. With the approval of this increase, all the approved files of the lines of aid for investments in livestock manure management systems and in energy efficiency and renewable energies, and of the line of precision agriculture and 4.0 technology, will be resolved. In addition, all concessions may be paid for the improvement of cleaning and disinfection centres for vehicles transporting live animals.

Motivation for approval

The large number of applications received for each program, as well as the approximate volume of aid and the new contribution of funds from the Spanish government, have motivated the approval of the increase that has been calculated taking into account the Ministry’s contribution of November 2023 and the remainder of the 2022 calls.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, “the effective management of aid and resources by the Departament d’Acció Climàtica, Alimentació i Agenda Rural has allowed Catalonia to receive an increase of 19 million euros“.
