- Mercabarna, CREDA and the EEABB are the entities in charge of analysing and collecting information from the Chair
Mercabarna, together with the Centre de Recerca en Economia i Desenvolupament Agroalimentari (CREDA) and the Escola d’Enginyeria Agroalimentària i Biosistemes de Barcelona (EEABB), publishes the executive summary of the results of the UPC-Mercabarna Chair carried out in the period 2021 – 2023.
During the three years of work, the Chair’s research has been oriented towards:
- The identification and establishment of indicators to quantify food waste in the food industry.
- The development of a study to quantify Mercabarna’s food waste.
- Coordination of research programs.
- The provision of a meeting point for local and international experts.
- The promotion of creation of synergies and alliances with other national and international universities.
The UPC-Mercabarna Chair, which concluded at the beginning of the year, presented the results last February to collaborating entities with waste, food companies and administrations.
